The Arbor Counseling Approach
Arbor Counseling is based on the idea that various areas of one's life can all be brought together for positive change. This may include examining the past and how it relates to the present in terms of self-esteem, relationships, interests, priorities, values and habits that impact health and well being. Cognitive behavioral approaches, experiential approaches, positive psychology and solution-focused therapy are used. The approach is active. Clients have the opportunity to maximize their change process with reinforcing activities they may choose to do on their own between sessions. Each person has the ability to change. Failure or dissatisfaction in the past or present does not have to mean more of the same in the future. Each person is unique and deserves a unique combination of treatment modalities.
